- Idea: CONTINUE a pattern, not remember one — the ladder is AB → AAB → ABB → ABC, then two missing at the end
- The lesson arrives through the EAR: a finished row plays back left to right, one note per block and the same note for the same block — so a three-year-old HEARS the repeat
- No round needs a written word: every instruction is spoken (lib/speak) and one big 🔊 button repeats it and plays the row again
- Blocks differ in SHAPE as well as colour — cube, barrel, arch, triangle, star — so a colour-blind child plays the same game
- Winnable by TAPPING alone — a three-year-old's drag is unreliable; the tray targets measure 80px on a phone
- 4,000 rows checked before any UI (npm run verify:lineup): two complete cycles always visible, never over eight cells, the answer always in the tray, and never winnable by picking the odd one out
- A wrong tap is never an error: the block lifts, shakes and slides home, Miro says something warm, three misses light the right block up, five buy a breath — and the counter starts again after it
- Play-tested at 390×844 and 1440×900: a full row completed, the playback heard, no console errors
- Kidsquare paintings of the five blocks — they are SVG through the house watercolour filter today, which is a stand-in, not a paintingplanned
- Longer units (ABCD) and a hole in the MIDDLE of the row, not only at the endplanned
✓ = done · ☐ = planned. Every game is built one step at a time like this.
