Hands and Body Activities

Nine activities you can set up from what is already in the house. One or two a day is plenty — this is not a checklist.

3–9

Fine finger work

Pinching between thumb and finger uses the same muscles a pencil grip stands on.

  • ร้อยลูกปัด

    Threading beads

  • คีบปอมปอม

    Tongs and pompoms

  • หนีบไม้หนีบผ้า

    Pegs on the rim

  • คีบด้วยแหนบ

    Tweezer pick

Two hands, two jobs

  • ตัดกระดาษตามเส้น

    Snipping along a line

  • นวดแป้งโดว์

    Squeezing dough

Heavy work, which settles a body

Pressure through the joints genuinely settles a child who cannot sit still. Useful right before anything that needs sitting.

  • ดันกำแพง

    Pushing the wall

  • ยกตะกร้าผ้า

    Carrying the basket

  • เข็นเก้าอี้

    Pushing the chair

You do not have to do all nine. One your child likes, done often, beats all nine done once and dropped.
